Spooktober!

October in Asheville!

By Mark Strazzer September 25, 2025

Halloween is my favorite holiday. My mom was a hippie before her time. I had brown rice and was the only kid at my school with whole wheat bread instead of Wonder Bread.

So Halloween was my chance to get candy for the year! It was a big deal. My sister and I would trade after we collected our bounty. I was out from 5-9:30pm! If I had fit watch, I bet I walked for miles!

Halloween has really gone commercial over the past decades. Right?!? The 15 foot creature at Lowes anybody?! I love it!

I have spent countless Halloweens on Vermont Ave making kids do push-ups for candy!
