Miss Anna M. Jarvis is credited for starting Mother's day. In 1906, she invited friends to come to her church in Grafton, West Virginia, on the first Sunday in May to commemorate the anniversary of her mother's death.
I was a self proclaimed "Mama's Boy." I also was a well know pain in the butt as a kid. After becoming a teacher, a lot of self-reflection, and personal growth, I frequently apologized to my mom as a grown up for my childish behavior. She was so sweet and always said, "No Mark, you weren't a pain, you were fun and adventurous." So kind!

Do what feels right and is easy. Bells and whistles are nice, but what a parent really wants is a genuine hug from their favorite little person.
